New Head of the Institute for Optimisation and Data Analysis IODA at BFH-TI
09.01.2025
Niki Zumbrunnen is the new Head of the Institute for Optimisation and Data Analysis IODA at BFH-TI. The institute specialises in experimental design, the statistical evaluation of data, the creation of quantitative models and the optimisation of industrial processes.
Since 1 January 2025, Niki Zumbrunnen is the new Head of the Institute for Optimisation and Data Analysis IODA at BFH-TI. He succeeds Jasmin Wandel, who was at the head of the institute since 2019 and who will be focussing more on her research projects and teaching activities again. A lecturer in mathematics and statistics, Niki Zumbrunnen teaches on BFH-TI’s Industrial Engineering and Management Science degree programme and on its Computer Science degree programme. His research and development activities focus on applied statistics and data science.
IODA researchers work in interdisciplinary teams to solve problems that require complex mathematical or physical modelling. Using statistical methods, they can analyse data, quantify risk events and optimise production processes, which in turn pave the way for better operational decisions in companies and public institutions.
