  • Dr. Brigitte Kürsteiner is the Head of the Global Engagement Unit at Berne University of Applied Science, the local coordinator of the PIONEER university alliance and a researcher at the Hugo P. Cecchini Institute. She is a former lecturer and researcher at the Departement of Geography of the University of Teacher Education, Luzern and a former high school teacher. She has a master’s degree in Geography from the University of Berne and a Master of Advanced Study in Intercultural Communications from the Università della Svizzera Italiana. Finally, she obtained a PhD in Social Politics at the University of Fribourg in the field of international education. Her research interests cover mobility learning, institutional transformation and European Higher Education Policy.
