Artistic Self-Conceptions
This research field at the Institute for Practices and Theories in the Arts (IPTK) reveals in particular changing strategies of artistic self-conceptions as well as self-ascriptions from the outside.
Aesthetic strategies and performative practices take central stage. Self-representations generated across different media are explored and critically scrutinized.
The projects bring to light artistic self-images both historically and against the backdrop of post-modern concepts of identity. They operate at the intersection of the humanities and social sciences as well as artistic research.
