Sustainability Report 2021
The sustainability report, published for the first time, documents how BFH lives and experiences sustainability in the areas of education, research and operations, as well as together with society.
Committed to sustainability
Talking about sustainability is one thing while acting sustainably oneself is yet another – over and above this lies the great challenge of the transformation of entire societies towards sustainability. Education and research have a leading role to play in this process. We at the BFH take this responsibility very seriously and make it a strategic priority. In everything we undertake, we are committed to the sustainability turnaround. We develop new solutions within perspectives adapted for a sustainable future in unison with the contributions of all actors in our society. Furthermore, we empower these actors as future change agents to transform existing institutions and systems. Our direct response thereby focuses on health-promoting nutrition systems, circular economy and sustainable settlement areas.
In 2021, the BFH was rated as an ambitious university in the top group of sustainable Swiss universities, according to the WWF. Being aware of our leading role binds us to a persistent and active engagement. That is why we are committed to our own climate neutrality, which we want to have achieved by 2030. Together we will shape the change, together we will make the change happen.
