BFH scholars as guests at Stanford University and MIT
24.05.2024 As part of research stays, the two business school researchers, Stefan Raff and Dandan Pang, spend the spring semester at MIT Sloan School of Management (Murray Lab for Innovation-Driven Entrepreneurship & Geopolitics) and Stanford University's Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI).
At the invitation of Prof. Fiona Murray (MIT Sloan, TIES Group), Stefan Raff dives deeper into the Deep-Tech ecosystem surrounding MIT. Specifically, he works on questions related to the commercialization of Deep Tech startups and aims to learn particularly how Deep Tech startups can be efficiently brought to market. He further explores these insights within the framework of the project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and other planned research initiatives with the DeepTech Switzerland Foundation in Switzerland from autumn onwards, contributing to advancing the Deep Tech ecosystem in Switzerland.
At the invitation of Prof. Johannes Eichstaedt (Stanford HAI, Computational Psychology and Well-Being Lab) and supported by the SNSF exchange grant, Dandan Pang's primary focus during this period is to explore the feasibility of AI-based personality assessment. By inferring VIA character strengths from Twitter data, she seeks to reveal the CEOs' impact on diverse firm outcomes. In addition to this project, Dandan Pang expresses her enthusiasm to engage with the lab on pertinent subjects, such as «How AIs will transform psychology & psychotherapy.» She looks forward to absorbing insights and knowledge, intending to bring back the most recent findings and applications to Switzerland.
