Course of action

This project engages with the significance of advanced music theatre for the (de )construction of identity-creating myths of community in Switzerland since 1945. With reference to the emergence of collective identities (‘we-ness’), we shall use different methods to investigate pioneering productions on the Swiss music theatre scene. We shall debate the means used to create different kinds of common consciousness, a) that are inherent in the symbolism employed in works and productions, and b) that emerge during rehearsals and in performance.
