Patrik Marti promoted as lecturer for Industrial Engineering

Since 2018, Marti has been a research associate and associate lecturer on the IoT and Embedded Systems and Industrial Engineering modules at the Industrial Engineering and Management Science Division. Thanks to his wealth of experience in industry – after his bachelor degree in IT at BFH, he worked as a development engineer at Créabeton Matériaux in the concrete 3D printing division focusing on robotics and process engineering – Marti will also play a key role in future in the acquisition of partner companies from industry for the division and ensure that lecturing activities are aligned with sustainability goals and the requirements of industry and students thanks to the high degree of practical relevance.

“During my career, I have held a wide range of positions in Industry 3.0 and 4.0, which has given me a good understanding of the challenges facing Swiss production companies,” explained Marti. Thanks to his wide-ranging experience in building automation, mechanical engineering, the automotive, food and construction industries and his previous positions as an automation engineer, programmer, developer and project manager, he is also well aware of the risks and challenges involved in implementing solutions in industry.

His professional experience, coupled with four years as a research associate at BFH and the set-up of the Industry Lab at the Industrial Engineering and Management Science Division, will strengthen the acquisition of partner companies and ensure lecturing activities are structured in a sustainable and targeted way.
