Testing rig for 2, 3 and 4-wheeled e-bikes

The goal of the project is to design a testing rig for the drive measurements of 2-, 3- and 4-wheeled e-bikes. That way, theoretical data from the technical documentation can be compared with real measurements.

Factsheet

Background

A wide range of 2, 3 and 4-wheeled e-bikes have been launched on the market in recent years. The creation of a testing rig allowing drive measurements to be carried out means vehicles can be evaluated and theoretical data from the technical documentation can be compared with real measurements.

Procedure

The complexity of the project is due to the requirement for the testing rig to have a modular structure. This is mainly because the high number of vehicles concerned, their dimensions, the drive systems and the pedals vary significantly from one model to the next. This task is being carried out in partnership with the Battery and Storage Systems Lab at BFH’s IEM Institute.
