Situation
A new database based on MariaDB was implemented on behalf of the Finance Department of the Canton of Bern. It processes data from 1086 Excel files and visualizes them with Chart.js. This solution replaces the previous platform, on which the information was only available in Excel tables.
Looking ahead
In future, the database will be updated three times a year - after completion and planning of the annual accounts in mid-May, at the end of August and at the end of January. It enables a structured and clear presentation of various accounting information from the authorities and directorates.
