Situation
Conducting an overview of Pollini’s oeuvre enables us to situate his person within the context of a musician’s career strategies of his time: as a pedagogue, a composer and a performer. The reception history of early Italian piano music will here be examined along with the instruments of the time, and their influence on local piano techniques.
